The TDI engines of VAG are famous with their efficiency. They offer both good performance characteristics and low fuel consumption, but the best-selling A4 model from Audi stunned everybody by achieving just 4.4 liters of diesel per 100km, which is more than 53mpg. The emissions are superbly low too – 115g/km of CO2. Furthermore, the A4 avant with the same engine returns over 51mpg and 120g/km of CO2.

The engine is 2.0 liter TDI with 136hp (100 kW) and 320Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque, which is available between 1750 nd 2500RPM. The massive torque is the key to the low fuel consumption.

Still, the performance is satisfying – 0 to 100 km/h in 9.5 seconds and the top speed is 215 km/h (133mph).

Furthermore, the 6-speed manual gearbox is revised  by lenghtnening the gear ratios, forged 16" alloys with 205/60 R16 tires are added, too.

Audi A4 2.0TDI 136hp is priced at €31 600, while the Avant model starts at €33 250.
