Brabus shows program for the new E-Class Cabrio
The German-based aftermarket expert Brabus has unwrapped a full tuning program for the recently released 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet. Retrofitted by Brabus, the new E-Class Cabrio excels at exclusiveness, athletic appearance and individualism.
The power unit engineers at Brabus have developed enhancement kits for the whole 2010 E-Class Cabriolet line-up including the strong V8 engine of the E500 model, which now gets transformed into a ultra powerful 6.1-liters capacity engine with 462 horsepower / 340 kW of maximum power.
The first power kit - BRABUS ECO PowerXtra D4 – boosts the output figures of the four-cylinder turbodiesel power unit on the E250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY model from stock 204 horsepower / 150 kW to 235 horsepower / 173 kW, while the peak torque grows to 560 Nm (413 lb-ft).
The BRABUS ECO PowerXtra D6 (III) power module is developed for the six-cylinder turbodiesel unit of the E350 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY model, which now boasts 272 horsepower / 200 kW and 590 Nm (435 lb-ft) of peak torque.
The BRABUS ECO PowerXtra CGI tuning power kit increases the output rating of the E250 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY gasoline model from the factory 204 horsepower / 150 kW to 230 horsepower / 169 kW at a low 5,500 rpm. Peak torque jumps from 310 Nm to 350 Nm (229 to 258 lb-ft).
For the E350 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY model with direct-injection gasoline powerokant BRABUS tuning provides an additional 18 horsepower / 13.2 kW.
As we already mentioned, the most powerful engine gets the most extensive modifications and respectively the most attractive numbers - 462 horsepower / 340 kW and a peak torque of 615 Nm (453 lb-ft) at a low 3,100 rpm. Thanks to these new stunning results, the refined 2010 E500 convertible sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 300 km/h (186 mph). This level of performance places the ride directly among the world's fastest four-seater two-door soft-top cars.
A stainless-steel sport exhaust units are available for all E-Class models and offer optimized power yield, a sporty exhaust note and striking looks with four exhaust tips.
Already stellar looking, the 2010 E-Class Cabriolet is further packed with even more breathtaking, sporty yet elegant aerodynamic appearance from BRABUS. Produced from top-end PU-Rim materials, the kit features new front spoiler with integrated LED daytime running lights, front sport fenders with integrated air openings, rear valance with centrally mounted reflector and BRABUS rear spoiler, which contributes extremely strong for the rides excellent aerodynamic balance at high speeds.
Furthermore, Brabus offers wide range of one-piece and multi-piece BRABUS Monoblock rims with diameters from 17- to 19-inches.
