At the LA Auto Show, Honda has unwrapped its all-new Fit EV Concept electric vehicle, a key model, which fully demonstrates company's approach of reducing CO2 emissions through innovative products, energy-management and energy-production technologies.

Revealing the outlines of Honda's upcoming production all-electric vehicle, scheduled for debut in the US and Japan for 2012, the Fit EV concept is engineered to meet the daily driving needs of the average urban ride, utilizing the same 5-passenger layout known from the famous Fit hatchback. When introuduced on the market, the Fit EV will be energized by a lithium-ion battery and coaxial electric motor that will be able to top a max speed of 90 mph. The ride's estimated driving range per charge is expected to be approximately 100-miles, and will be able to be maximized by the use of an innovative 3-mode electric drive system, adapted from the 2011 Honda CR-Z sport hybrid.

The displayed show ride at the Los Angeles Auto Show wears an exclusive Deep Clear Blue Pearl livery and sleek five-spoke aluminum-alloys with blue inserts. It further highlights unique LED headlights, a chrome front fascia, aerodynamic bumper, clear LED taillights and EV decals. Inside the cabin, the Fit EV Concept is outfitted in an eco-friendly gray bio-fabric on the seating surfaces.
