Jeep Patriot 4x4 is the best in its class according to Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA). More than 40 TAWA members tested the Patriot and its rivals for two day at the annual Truck Rodeo in San Antonio.

The jury watched closely for every single detail, from the interior and exterior of the SUVs to their on and off-road capabilities. The value and fuel consumption were some of the major points, too.

2010 Jeep Patriot deserved the first place. The compact SUV exceeded its competitors by combining utility, fun and freedom.

Patriot's Off-Road Package includes aggressive approach, departure and breakover angles, 9 inches of ground clearance and additional body sealing to support 19 inches of water-fording. The SUV is equipped with 17-inch all-terrain tires, a full-size spare tire, skid plates, tow hooks and fog lamps.

Patriot is capable of doing up to 29mpg on the highway, which puts the SUV on top of its class.

Other of the strong sides of Patriot is its low price. 2010 Jeep Patriot Sport starts at just $18,425, which is very good value for money.

A real off-roader at low price with good equipment - that is the 2010 Jeep Patriot 4x4.
