2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8
2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8 is the latest addition to the last year's introduced, completely redesigned 2011 Chrysler 300, aimed at adding the line-up with an exclusive combination of world-class luxury, power and handling.
Developed by Chrysler Group's Street and Racing Technology performance engineering team, the all-new, 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8 sports under its bonnet a new 6.4-litre HEMI V8 engine capable of producing the amazing output of 465 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of peak torque. Thanks to these figures, the ride accelerates from zero to 62 mph in the high 4-second range, yet has a top speed of 175 mph and stopping power from 60-0 mph in 120 feet.
Moreover, an Adaptive Damping Suspension (ADS) system tuned specifically for the Chrysler 300 SRT8 is mounted, providing passengers and driver with an incredibly compliant and comfortable ride experience. It uses a wide range of on-road and driver inputs - such as vehicle speed, steering angle, steering speed, brake torque, throttle position and lateral and vertical accelerations - to automatically tune the suspension for specific conditions when necessary. With the 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8, driver also can choose between "Auto" and "Sport" settings that quickly change the shock damping and harshness characteristics from everyday commuting to more spirited driving situations.
The SRT-tuned Chrysler is further reinforced by the presence of an improved fully-hydraulic steering system and an all-new set of seven-spoke, black chrome finished, 20-inch lightweight forged aluminum wheels wrapped in high-performance rubber.
On the outside, the ride hosts an exclusive new front fascia boasting modern styling yet timeless impact carried through with the all-new grille and new Chrysler wing badge. In addition to these exterior applications, it further has black chrome upper and lower grille surrounds and rear valance strip, which are part of the available Black Chrome Package. SRT-exclusive side sills, one-half inch lowering and unique lower fascia with chrome accent bar at the rear, as well as new 4-inch round dual exhaust tips and a modified SRT8 decklid badge with new black accent further differs the performance machine from the basis 2011 Chrysler 300.
