Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo Concept is Dedicated to the Fans. Takes the Stage in Frankfurt [VIDEO]
Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo Concept is something you have already seen. But what you haven't witnessed is its birth at the Frankfurt Motor Show, where it takes the stage to make an official premiere. The virtual concept has been designed exclusively for PlayStation and in particular for the video game Gran Turismo. However, Bugatti says that the car is dedicated to the fans. Why? Because thanks to the game, the supersports car can be accessed by millions of fans throughout the world. And this is company's way to say ‘Thank you!'
Exterior Shows the New Bugatti Design DNA
The design of the car celebrates Bugatti's racing tradition of the 1920s and 1930s, in particular its victories in the 24 Hours of Le Mans race. It features innovative motorsport technology and is destined to mark a new chapter in the company's history. The reason for this is that the virtual project gives actually a glimpse of the brand's future design language.

As a matter of fact, the designers and engineers worked together and in close collaboration to develop the virtual race car. There are two key points important for both teams: they had to create a virtual vehicle that has the distinctive Bugatti appearance, and second, every component of it should have a real performance function.
The design is very real; and although the car is only a virtual project, it leaves the feeling that it will be a real production vehicle. By the way the project is based on development team's latest simulation models of driving dynamics and aerodynamics. And if it was real it could drive at over 400 kph (250 mph) on four sections of the virtual Le Mans track. Well, the W16 engine that powers the car also helps for this purpose.
The exterior of this Bugatti is pretty impressive. It has the typical for the brand large convex surfaces, which are ‘contrasted' with concave transitions and strong lines. The cockpit lies as low as possible and combined with the V-shaped front end and short rear overhang; they all indicate powerful forward thrust.
The design is so typically Bugatti: the famous Bugatti line for example is featured on the side profile of the Vision Gran Turismo. A signature two-tone finish also plays very important role ad makes a strong statement about the origin of this car.
The Bugatti symbol on the front grille and the eight-eye headlights at its sides also make a strong impact regarding the specifics of Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo's design. As a matter of fact, the lights have aerodynamic function, because they act as air intakes to cool the brakes.
Furthermore, the centre fin is derived from the legendary 1936 Type 57 Atlantic. The rear in general looks spectacular. It features strong trailing edge that provides excellent driving stability, and exhausts the hot air from the engine compartment.
Functional Interior
The same design philosophy applied on the exterior has been implemented inside. The interior features clean lines, two-tone finish and is dressed in luxurious materials such as carbon fiber and finest leather for the upholstery. In fact, the striking centre fin of the roof is echoed in the interior. Here it divides the cockpit from the rest of the interior and merges with the central console below.
There are two convex displays that show important information. The first one is positioned on the steering wheel and shows all the relevant vehicle information. The second is located on the steering column and displays the images gathered from the three cameras mounted on the outside of the vehicle.
And if you happen to be at the Frankfurt Motor Show, join Bugatti at its stand, where the Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo show car will be on display. The time to do that is between 17th and 27th of September.
