Ford to debut three different 2011 Explorer rides at SEMA
Ford has prepared an incredible fleet of exclusively transformed rides for the upcoming edition of SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) that will take place in Las Vegas from November 2-5. Starring this army of street customized rides is the recently premiered, all-new 2011 Ford Explorer that sports amazingly bold and at the same dynamic look.
Craig Patterson, Ford Explorer marketing manager shared: "It's so new and reinvented, and the styling is standout from the inside out. Explorer is the perfect choice for people to accessorize. Those who want to customize it are starting from a great base that is extremely well received, and that's where the attraction lies."
Along with the vigor Explorer, the Ford booth for SEMA will be further showcasing customized versions of the Ford Taurus SHO, Edge and Fusion Sport, as well as the all-new Lincoln MKX.
At the event, the 2011 Explorer will be fitted in three completely different style forms exclusively developed by Funkmaster Flex and Team Baurtwell, Galpin Auto Sports and CGS Performance Products.
The Funkmaster Flex and Team Baurtwell's conversion of the mighty Explorer represents a urban-styled ride packed standard with street cred inside and out. It boasts 3-part, 24-inch forged alloys fitted with Cooper tires and reinforced by Baer brake system.
Further highlights include custom logos, Katzkin two-tone leather seats and high-end Sony Xplod audio unit.
In the Galpin Auto Sports' Explorer, the vision reminds more of a ultra-luxury ride in James Bond style. Its outer dress utilizes 24-inch wheels, custom silver paint and additional light treatments.
Inside the cabin, the custom SUV gets premium material touches and luxury gadgets, including leather-trimmed headliner with suede running down the center and an iPad in the second-row console, which can be viewed in either landscape or portrait mode.
CGS Performance Explorer is focused on the active lifestyle customers, benefiting from seven-spoke 22-inch silver wheels and monochromatic silver finish contrasted by carbon-styled bonnet and roof with mountain bike rails.
Inside the cabin, it has built-in video screens in the headrests and custom leather upholstery.
In addition to that, a CGS cat-back exhaust provides more power, rumble, and even enhanced economy figures.
