Jaguar XJ Sentinel - The safest sports saloon on the market
2011 Jaguar XJ Sentinel is an armoured version of the new XJ luxury sports saloon, which will make its official debut at the 2010 Moscow International Motor Show.
There are several levels of armouring package including the top-one B7, which is virtually bullet proof. The car was built using strengthen steels combined with Kevlar. 2011 Jaguar XJ Sentinel can hold up to 15kg TNT equivalent detonated within close proximity of the vehicle.
Because of the significantly increased weight, Jaguar put the mighty 5.0 litre AJ-V8 Gen III naturally aspirated direct-injection V8, which delivers 385PS, but still the car accelerates a little slowly - 0 to 100km/h in 9.7 seconds and top speed of 195 km/h (122mph). The overall weight of the monster 3 300kg and it needs bigger brakes, actually the biggest brakes. Jaguar installed the high performance braking system found on the 510PS Supercharged non-armoured XFR model.
Furthermore, the car includes dual-stage driver and front passenger airbags, side thorax airbags and side curtain airbags. Inside, the car features the same luxurious interior found on the standard car.
