Kia Motors to keep UEFA EURO 2008 on the move
Kia Motors Corporation announced today that it will deliver 265 passenger cars and provide 463 days worth of buses to ensure efficient and smooth transportation during UEFA EURO 2008™ in Austria and Switzerland, and to fulfil its requirement as official automobile of UEFA EURO 2008™. Kia is supplying official vehicles from its wide-ranging model line-up to the EURO 2008 and seeks to boost its brand recognition through commercial displays at the event venues and A-board advertisements in the stadiums.
UEFA EURO 2008™ is scheduled to kick off on June 7th in Basle, Switzerland with the champion to be crowned on June 29th in Vienna, Austria. The matches will take place throughout 8 cities in Austria (Vienna, Salzburg, Innsbruck, Klagenfurt) and Switzerland (Basle, Zurich, Bern, Geneva). UEFA EURO 2008™ marks the biggest and most prestigious event in Kia's partnership with UEFA.
While handing over a giant car key to Martin Kallen, COO of EURO 2008™, and Phillippe Margraff, Commercial Director of UEFA, Kwang-Ho Nam, President of Kia Motors Europe, delightedly expressed; ‘Kia Motors sees participation in football as an integral part of our vision to become a formidable player on the global automotive stage. Kia Motors is also making a further contribution with its support of the EURO Experience Tour being held in each of the host cities in Austria and Switzerland as a means of promoting the tournament and allowing fans to experience the excitement of UEFA EURO 2008™ through a variety of interactive games and events.
In addition to its close partnership with UEFA, Kia Motors will sponsor the 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cups. On a local level, Kia Motors has partnered with several premier football clubs including Atletico de Madrid of Spain and FC Bordeaux of France.
