Lincoln Previews the Future of Luxury with Continental Concept
Lincoln is rarely in our news, but when it does it is because of something spectacular. Whether it is a new advertisement with the Academy Award winner Matthew McConaughey, or simply a new project, we are always excited to see what's next for the brand. And today it is the Rhapsody Blue metallic Continental Concept which is a preview of a future full-size sedan that is an example of "quiet luxury".
The car is distinguished by a sleek silhouette, typical for a sedan, as well as by a centered chrome grille, which both imply for a brand new front fascia of company's cars. Also new is the raised Lincoln badge that is surrounded by aluminum Lincoln Star emblems. The door handles are the so called "e-latch" and they open with one touch, effortlessly and quietly.
In terms of technology, this concept car is filled with cool stuff. First, the lights at the front are LED matrix headlamps that feature laser-assist high beams. Secondly, the taillights are given light-through-chrome technology. Third, the cabin of the vehicle is enchanted by ambient lightning via the soft-gold LEDs coming from the center console.
The car can also show-off with Lincoln Drive Control ride-enhancing technologies and Adaptive Steering, driver assist technologies such as Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection, 360-degree camera and Enhanced Park Assist.
Speaking of the interior, this Lincoln features Venetian leather seats and door panels as well as Alcantara seat inserts and armrests. Other interesting features inside are the satin headliner and the shearling wool carpet. Rose Gold and bright chrome trims added throughout the interior add further accents. There are some more special features like the 30-way seats, the Revel Ultima audio system, the SPD SmartGlass tinting sunroof and tablet-supporting lap tray, and etc.
Continental Concept hides under its hood a 3.0-liter V6 EcoBoost engine, but there are no official words on output numbers. Riding on those one-off painted-pocket alloys of the 21-inch size, this concept will amaze the visitors of the auto show in New York and there is no doubt in that. Be prepared for more official data very soon.
