Mercedes-Benz B55 V8
Mercedes-Benz B 55 V8 is an extraordinary, one-off model born to mark the exclusively great success of the premium brand's A and B-Class models on the market. Based upon a factory, training-destined B 200 CDI, the all-new, high-performance B 55 ride has been transplanted a 5.5-liters V8 engine unit capable of producing the strong 388 horsepower and 530 Nm of peak torque, as well as a seven-speed automatic transmission.
The bright idea for the special modified B-Class ride came from the Mercedes' Rastatt plant manager, Peter Wesp, who gave some of his staff the creative task to develop a special vehicle on the basis of the B-Class.
Further special fittings on the ride were made in the steering and exhaust areas, and in the drive axle at the rear, which was replaced by one of an older W 210 series E-Class. A perfect safety fit for the newly boosted B-Class was also the perforated and internally ventilated disc brakes unit in size 345 x 34 mm at the front, and 300 x 30 mm at the rear. In addition to these new, high-end components, the Mercedes B 55 has also received a sleek set of 18-inch AMG sports alloys in five-spoke design and luxurious interior upholstery from leather and Alcantara combination.
