An event to mark the launch of the new vehicle was held in Kuala Lumpur. The Myvi was developed jointly by Perodua and Daihatsu in May 2005. Since then the vehicle has been a top-selling model, with cumulative sales exceeding 252,000 units, and has been well-received by a wide range of users across generational lines.
