2011 Volkswagen Touareg fully unwrapped
Volkswagen has announced officially the next-generation 2011 Volkswagen Touareg. At a special private occasion with numerous prominent guests, the famous German-based brand – VW - celebrated the world premiere of its stunning new Touareg premium SUV. The stylish event - Touareg Late Night Show – took place at the Bavarian state capital.
According to Volkswagen, the new Touareg is the most technically innovative vehicle since the brand exists. Its exterior vision carries the Volkswagen's latest styling cues. Designed closer to the asphalt, the new off-roader is 208 kilograms lighter than its predecessor and boasts five per cent greater torsional rigidity.
For model year 2011, the new-generation Touareg will be available also with a hybrid drivetrain – supercharged 3.0-liter V6 engine with direct injection, electric motor and an eight-speed automatic transmission, which will allow speeds of up to 50 km/h in pure electric mode.
Thanks to its revised engine line-up and technology features, the premium SUV is ready to set new efficiency standards among the fully off-road capable SUVs. Fitted with the diesel power unit V6 TDI, the new Touareg achieves the best in class combined fuel consumption of 7.4 liter per kilometer. The stunning off-roader will be also available with a normally aspirated 3.6-liter V6 gasoline engine and an extremely potent 335 horsepower 4.2-liter TDI V8 power-plant.
The generous equipment is not an exception in the VW vehicles, and next-generation Touareg proves that once again. It renders ABS, EDS, ASR, Hill Descent Assist, Stop-Start system, RF remote control unit, Area View safety system, info system with 6.5-inch touch-screen, Lane Assist, Side Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control and Bi-Xenon headlights with Dynamic Light Assist and more. Optionally, the vehicle can be ordered with a 19-inch alloys "Girona" design, fine wood inserts - Olive Ash and a two-tone Nappa leather interior - Dark Burgundy / Titan Black or Pepper Beige / Titan Black.
