The famous tuning specialists at HARTGE have announced a new and extremely well-balanced performance upgrade for the 1.8- and 2.0-litre engine units of the small crossover BMW X1. Of course, the new HARTGE program is orientated in all aspects of the words confidence and styling, and includes more goodies in addition to the power conversions – a stainless-steel rear silencer with 80 mm round tail pipes, sports springs with 30 mm lowering as well as 'Classic 2' 20-inch 10-spoke alloys wrapped with tires in the size 245/30 ZR 20 at the front and 295/25 ZR 20 at the rear axle.

Under the bonnet of the 18d model, HARTGE boosts the figures from 143 horsepower (105 kW) to 179 horsepower (126 kW) at 4000 rpm and 350 Nm (lb-ft 258) at 2000 revs. Thanks to this power increase, the manual sDrive18d sprints from standstill to 100 km/h in 8.1 seconds, 1.5 seconds faster than the stock version.

In the BMW X1 20d, the modifications of the already powerful 4-cylinder engine with common-rail injection system and turbocharger results in 32 horsepower increase and max torque of 415 Nm (lb-ft 306) at 2000 rpm, which enables it to leap from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.2 instead of 8.4 seconds.
